Research Project D04

Assessment of the 2003 CSO's population forecast for the City of Warsaw

Project Manager: Marek Kupiszewski

Recent population forecast prepared by the Central Statistical Office (CSO) for Poland raised some doubts among the governments of large cities, notably in the Office of the President of Warsaw. We were asked to look at the data used in the projection and on their assumptions and to comment on their quality and feasibility. The results have been presented on a conference on demographic development of Warsaw agglomeration in January 2005 and are available in the CEFMR Working Paper 1/2006.
