The Revision and Upgrading of
"IOM Research Manual"

The Research and Publication Unit of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Headquarters in Geneva has comissioned CEFMR to revise and upgrade the previous edition of its IOM Research Manual. The main tasks of this 3-months' project were: (1) to provide a comprehensive and user-friendly guide to planning and conducting social research, understandable also for a lay person without methodological background, and (2) to sensitise the readers to methodological challenges of international migration studies. The selected parts of the Manual have been revised, in order to increase the proportion of material related to methodological issues. The contents of the manual was enriched with new sections and amply illustrated with examples taken from the fieldwork.

The project was completed in spring 2006.
